The Copenhagen-based student assistant position offers an opportunity to work in both a global and local context supporting top Nordic corporates navigating the financial markets.
Main scope of the role
The Corporate Coverage student assistant position offers 6 months experience within our fast growing client facing team, covering relationships with Nordic corporates (large- and mid-cap, high growth/start-up and family office/privately owned companies). The role is part time (50%), and would give you an immense opportunity to learn about a variety of products, clients and markets, as a compliment to your studies while building a solid skill set you can carry forward in your career in an international environment.
What you will do
Support the Head of Coverage, Directors and VPs in identifying, developing and managing corporate relationships from a day-to-day and strategic perspective in collaboration with staff across geographies. Specifically, you will:
Support in the management of the credit process to ensure all Annual Reviews and transaction requests are processed in a timely manner including forecast modelling
Undertake research on prospect clients/industries including, extracting, and interpreting market data, understanding sector dynamics and how they affect strategy, gathering and analysing financial statements, operating data, and industry reports; learn how to turn raw information into actionable insight.
Prepare tailored pitch books and marketing material for client or internal presentations

What you will do!
As a Corporate Coverage Analyst, you will support the commercial and credit teams in the day to day management of our client portfolio, applying the bank’s standardized credit, commercial and KYC procedures to ensure that all marketing and execution materials meet BNP Paribas’ high standards of quality and compliance. What truly sets this role apart is the international exposure; you’ll collaborate with clients and colleagues across more than 60 countries, gaining a front row seat on multi regional transactions. You will be a fundamental part of the Corporate Coverage business model by taking on a key role in three dimensions:
• Credit expertise: Monitor the overall risks and the credit process on a portfolio of Large Danish Corporates and subsidiaries of foreign large corporates, (when applicable) preparation of annual reviews and ad hoc credit requests. This includes operational, financial and ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) analytical skills and coordination of input from various stakeholders to ensure reviews and transaction requests are processed in a timely manner prior to sign-off by the relevant delegation holders.
• Commercial: Support the Bankers in the development of the client relationships through activities such as preparation of client action plans, strategic business reviews including research and capital structure analysis/modelling. As a Corporate Coverage Analyst, you should proactively and reactively interact with internal parties under the supervision of the Bankers to effectively deliver on all tasks, with the aim of developing into having a client facing role supporting the Banker on the client portfolio.
• Compliance: Ensure that account maintenance, Know Your Client (KYC) recertification, onboarding of new clients and entities are done in a timely fashion and in respect of all regulatory requirements, collaborate with Due Diligence and Compliance Officers and support Bankers in steering the KYC for their client portfolio.
Relevant experience and requirements
• You hold a relevant master’s degree with strong academic results with 1-2 years of working experience which can include relevant student/intern positions.
• You are ambitious, willing to learn, outgoing, positive, have analytical mindset and a genuine interest in the financial markets and work in a structured way with a focus on quality, details and deadlines.
• You thrive working on projects with colleagues from different backgrounds and countries where you will have the opportunity to challenge your analytical skills, working agility and resilience.
• You possess excellent communication skills in English and elementary skills in Danish.
• You possess a sound knowledge of the Danish and broader Nordic corporate market.

About this opportunity
As Credit / Business Analyst you will, together with the a colleagues be our local credit and risk expertise when it comes to analysis on existing and potential clients, primarily covering Nordic corporates and Strategic Business Groups. In the role as Credit / Business Analyst, you will work closely with our dedicated teams in Sales and Relationship Management, with direct reference to the Head of Client Relations.

What you will do
- Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts etc.) taking into account the client’s goals and financial standing.
- Write financial analysis in a clear and concise manner, as an integrated part of the credit paper.
- Prepare ratings according to BNP Paribas Group models and standards.
- Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to Relationship Management and New Sales in respect of structure on transactions.

- Support Client Relationship Management in monitoring financial performance on existing clients; follow up on financial reporting and covenants, as well as ESG analysis of client / prospects.
- Gain and update job knowledge to remain informed about novelty in the field.
- Participation in the ongoing development of BNP Paribas Factor in the Nordic.
