About the job Your impact as an Agile Coach 

Do you want to become an essential player in our journey to become an agile IT area, and eventually the whole enterprise? Are you convinced that the agile mindset and principles are not only beneficial for IT teams, but can successfully be applied to all areas of a company? Then you might be the agile coach we are looking for, to help us grow our Nordic business to reap the benefits of being a true agile enterprise.

Our company started implementing agile principles in parts of our IT development teams. This means that pilot teams in IT – including our development colleagues in Bucharest – have started the early phases of working in an agile mindset. We aspire to become more agile, and to get into a more structured approach. Based on our initial success, we are now ready to let more teams benefit from becoming agile, one success at a time.

The Position

As an agile coach, you will be part of our IT department in Taastrup. You will work closely with our current IT Management team, and lots of stakeholders who are eager to benefit from using the agile methodology.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and lead the agile implementation
  • Communicate to managers and leaders, to help them understand the benefits of agile, and their role in the agile teams
  • Coach colleagues and teams in the agile mindset, principles, and practices and how to apply this in practice
  • Assist in improving collaboration and efficiency by introducing technology to support people and processes (currently, we are using JIRA)
  • Work closely with existing – or new – scrum masters and proxy-product owners, to help them and their teams continuously improve
  • From time-to-time, act as scrum master for teams that need to mature the scrum master role
  • Stay abreast of emerging agile topics, to ensure we constantly improve our agile processes

The Ideal Candidate

You are currently working as an agile coach or similar, with at least 5 years of strong hands experience and knowledge in the domain. Your experience with agile might be from an IT perspective, but you should be eager to apply this on a much broader enterprise scale.

As a strong team player, you are ready to provide your support and expertise when needed, while always working with a service minded attitude. As a servant leader, you have a passion for helping teams and the organization collaborate and advance.

You love to take the lead in transformation, and to steer, teach and to guide the organization. You take responsibility and drive plans, and you implement cadenced execution. You challenge existing processes to ensure efficiency and higher quality.

You are able to manage multiple stakeholders efficiently and should be motivated by working both individually and in teams. You are the bridge to business management and a trusted partner in difficult dialogues and scoping discussions. Transparency from top to bottom and vice versa is an important part of your way of working.  

It will be advantageous if you have experience with frameworks and processes like Kanban, Scrum, Lean, OKR, Design Sprints, Agile Maturity Model and Liberating Structures, as well as tools like Jira, Miro, and Confluence.

With strong focus on operational efficiency and high performance, you will lead people in the BNP Paribas Personal Finance Nordics organization by good example, inspiring and providing insights in how to rethink how we work, and how to build and grow a thriving agile organization.  

You will be working with skilled colleagues in a fast-paced and vibrant business environment where collaboration is key. We will depend on you to contribute to the development of the job role.

What we expect from our new awesome colleague 

  • We are open to different backgrounds. You may have a broad experience as a Release Train Engineer, Project / Program Manager, Scrum Master, Agile Coach or similar. The most important is to have in-depth knowledge of and solid hands-on experience with Lean and Agile Methods, combined with a passion for creating an environment of trust and collaboration
  • We imagine that you are a great facilitator and a strong communicator across and at all levels in the organization for various levels of skills and seniority.   You are well-organized, innovative, speak your mind, can determine independently what needs to be done and most importantly are able to steer through uncertainty.
  • You are as a person genuinely interested in helping the organization and other people succeed. You appreciate and generate an open feedback culture, and you value a humorous tone among your colleagues.
  • BNP Paribas Personal Finance Nordics has teams in several countries, so a natural curiosity and understanding for cultural differences is expected to succeed in the role.
  • You can communicate fluently in Danish and in English (verbal and written).
    Speaking a Scandinavian language (Danish, Swedish or Norwegian) would be a plus however it is not a requirement.
